This guide explains how to log in to Claude on web, mobile, and desktop, how to create an account, and what to do when login stops working. The official Claude login is at claude.ai.

How to Log In to Claude on Web

The web version of Claude is available at claude.ai in any modern browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge). No app download is required.

1. Go to claude.ai in your browser
2. Click Sign in or Continue with Google
3. You can sign in with a Google account, Apple ID, or a email/password combination
4. If you do not have an account, click Sign up and follow the steps — you will need to verify your email
5. Once logged in, you will see the Claude chat interface and can start a new conversation

The web interface works on desktop computers and mobile browsers. If you prefer a native app experience, the iOS, Android, and desktop apps are also available.

How to Log In to Claude on iPhone (iOS)

1. Download the Claude app from the Apple App Store — search for “Claude” by Anthropic
2. Open the app and tap Sign in
3. Use your Google account, Apple ID, or email and password to log in
4. If you already have a Claude account on the web, use the same credentials
5. Your conversations and settings sync across devices when signed in to the same account

How to Log In to Claude on Android

1. Download the Claude app from Google Play — search for “Claude” by Anthropic
2. Open the app and tap Sign in
3. Log in with your Google account or email and password
4. Your account syncs with claude.ai on the web — use the same login on all devices

How to Access Claude Desktop App

Claude has a dedicated desktop application for Mac and Windows. The desktop app offers deeper system integration — Claude can see and interact with other apps you have open, which is useful for in-workflow assistance.

1. Go to claude.ai/download in your browser
2. Download the app for your operating system (Mac or Windows)
3. Install the app and open it
4. Log in with your Claude account credentials
5. Grant any permissions the app requests for system integration features

Creating a New Claude Account

If you do not have a Claude account yet:

1. Go to claude.ai
2. Click Sign up
3. Enter your email address or continue with Google or Apple
4. If using email, you will receive a verification email — click the link in it
5. Complete the short setup steps (name, accepting terms)
6. You are now on the free plan and can start using Claude immediately

Claude Login Not Working? Common Issues and Fixes

If you cannot log in to Claude, here are the most common causes and fixes:

Wrong email or password

• Make sure you are using the email address you signed up with
• If you registered with Google or Apple, use those sign-in buttons instead of entering a password directly
• Use the Forgot password link on the login screen to reset your password

Email not verified

• Check your email inbox (and spam folder) for a verification email from Anthropic
• Click the verification link — accounts may not be activated until the email is confirmed
• You can request a new verification email from the login screen

Claude is down or returning errors

• Check the official status page at status.claude.com to see if there is an ongoing outage

Browser or app cache issues

• Clear your browser cookies and cache, then try logging in again
• On mobile, try closing and reopening the app
• Try a different browser or incognito/private mode to test if the issue is browser-specific

Account suspended or restricted

• If you see a message about your account being restricted, contact Anthropic support at support.claude.com

VPN or firewall blocking access

• Claude is available in most regions but some VPN configurations or network firewalls may block access to claude.ai
• Try disabling your VPN temporarily or switching to a different network to test

Which Plan Do You Log In With?

Your plan (Free, Pro, Max, or Team) is linked to your account. You log in the same way regardless of which plan you are on. After logging in, your available features and usage limits reflect your current plan.

• Free plan: No payment needed — sign up and log in immediately
• Pro plan: Subscribe at claude.com/pricing — your account upgrades after payment
• Max plan: Higher usage tier — same login, different usage limits
• Team plan: Your admin may invite you via email — follow the invitation link to join your team’s workspace
